Still no success in freeing the baby eagle found in Rachel's yard, as the last few attempts have resulted in the confused young thing soaring close to the ground before crashing into field after field. It's suspected that her wings aren't quite strong enough yet so the wildlife experts have been treating her to various perching and flapping exercises, shown here in Rachel's wacky send-up on action movie trailers in anticipation of the Big Day.

My photographer friend Rachel took these photos and video of a 3-4 month old female bald eagle chick being rescued in her backyard yesterday. Lisa Barlow from the terrific Hampton Roads-based Wildlife Response picked it right up, bare hands and everything! They think she may have fallen from her nest and is either too young or too confused to fly, but she's at the vet today and if all is well she'll be released back into Rachel's neighborhood this afternoon.

The music she chose for the video clip is "Me And The Eagle" by Steve Earle. This "baby" had herself a 6-foot wingspan!

Since then there have been many more...

And some that continue to play in my head, like whenever I ride the metro in D.C.

And even the last album that he put out a few months ago still packs a punch.

The poster has been made, and the date has been set. Joe and I are in this movie as a couple of burned-out talking heads, but I'm looking forward to seeing how much of the old music footage still exists from a long time ago. Great job Paul Unger, Debra Persons and Andrea Rizzo!

I guess it's been awhile since I've posted anything. What's been going on? Nothing really fun or exciting to report. No money, health is the pits. I had an old friend who lost her home and all her possessions live with me for about a month, and she's not the only one I know who's been rendered homeless in the last month or so. My Death Cough from November is on the wane but still persistent. Feh, anyway, I'm working towards improving my health and overall situation, and Joe is busy working on a book about wrestling which promises to be very interesting. Overall I have more blessings to count I suppose. I just feel really wiped out all the time. But once I get some coffee into me this morning I'm sure I'll perk up. And some vicodin for this sore tooth. Bleeeeeeehhhh grouse grouse, heh heh.

Marianne Elliott-Said, AKA Poly Styrene, 1957-2011

She was a Scottish-Somali teenage Brit who was inspired by The Sex Pistols and the decline of consumer culture civilization. Her band X-Ray Spex put out one flawless album of singles, but Poly was the obvious star with her cat-in-heat caterwaul, signature day-glo fashion sense, and feminist anthem "Oh Bondage, Up Yours!" that kicks down the patriarchal door with Lora Logic's call-to-arms saxophone wail followed by Poly's defiant fuck you to anyone getting in her formidable way. And she did it all with an adorable, chubby, brace-faced smile that nobody could forget. Sadly Poly lost her battle with cancer this week, the same week that saw her new solo album Generation Indigo hit the stores. But having been out of the musical spotlight for quite some time doesn't make her any less missed. She was inspirational to me in my 20's. Death can't take her away from us. RIP Marianne.

Great joy! Help me, people. To find this movie somewhere online (this is some kind of Russian version of youtube so the text is in Russian but the video clip is in English).

A couple of years ago I mentioned how I was looking for a hilariously bad 80's sci-fi/horror film that I thought had the word "Dwarves" in the title, which I have seen on either TBS or some cable channel a bazillion years ago and not really paying attention until suddenly "Defiance" by local Virginia band Snuff began playing over the end credits. Well, after conferring with an old friend from work and Facebooking with Chuck "Coyote" Larson from Snuff it has been determined that the film was the 1983 sci-fi/horror crapfest Dance Of The Dwarfs, which was released briefly on VHS as Jungle Heat and will probably never see the light of day on DVD in any way shape or form. That does goes without saying, right?

If anybody can find either title online or on VHS or some kind of format that I might see again please let me know. But most importantly it proves that I am NOT a loon. No, I'm not. I said I'm not. Stop looking at me like that.

Being miserable with the cough hasn't made me all that productive, and that includes keeping up with this blog. Laying in bed, staying warm and still, and apparently gaining obscene amounts of weight appear to be the order of the day so long as I am a slave to the pain.

But recently I have discovered that the doctor that I used to visit in my youth is still in practice. The doctor that always seemed to know just what to give me for this cough to make it go away, for at least as long as it the next time it resurfaces. I'm going to see him in a couple of weeks. Here's to hoping that he remembers me. And remembers what he GAVE me all those years ago.

Perry Moore, 1971-2011

My friend Lizzie's brother Perry Moore tragically passed away this week. I met Perry at Liz and Randy's wedding back in December 2009, and although I knew that he had written the book Hero, about a gay teenage superhero that Stan Lee was interested in producing as a Showtime series (and according to this article is still in development) but I discovered that day that he was also the executive producer for The Chronicles Of Narnia films, which is partly why his death was making headlines all over the entertainment industry. Perry was a sweet man, very funny and charming and obviously quite talented, his passing is truly heartbreaking.

I have been invited to the funeral this Saturday, and the "Irish wake" after might promise to be jam-packed and star-studded. But all I can think of is what a loss this is. My love goes out ot Liz and her beautiful family.

Oh yes, Christmas happened. Or at least I'm vaguely aware of the occurrence, having caught a virus Christmas Eve and spent most of the night heaving an empty stomach over the potty. But by Christmas morning the worst was past and I was able to visit with my parents, exchange gifts, and keep food down. Still don't have a voice at the moment, as all the vomiting tore my throat to shreds and my body is sore from all the pulled muscles. But after today's snowstorm which kept me home an extra day I think I'm better recovered, if still a little tired and hoarse. I just have a lot of white stuff to dig myself out of bright and early tomorrow morning.

Laff It Up, Fuzzball

Christmas dinner with old friends at Veneziano Italian restaurant in Norfolk, Va last night. Taken with Hunter's phone and emailed to mine, although luckily you can't see me except for my arm behind Joe because I think I had a straw in my mouth trying to fish out the lemon slice from my water glass and I probably looked like the world's fattest crackhead. The heat wasn't working in the place so we all ate in our coats and scarves and Rachel (in red scarf) and I had inhuman amounts of coffee to keep us relatively warm. But was a lovely night and wonderful to see a lot of these people in the same room with each other again. We've all been so scattered over the last half year and Sunday brunches have been an exercise in getting us together. But I'm glad I went. Despite how much chest pain I was in from coughing so much. Haven't been able to pay my insurance for two months until now so once things kick back in I have to try and at least get a few ounces of Tussionex from the doctor this week, if possible. I can't make it through Christmas and New Years with the beast still living in my lungs.

I first heard Trout Mask Replica in the spring on 1988, having bought the cassette after reading about the album's greatness from numerous reliable publications and various top-ten lists. But at first listen, I was stunned, and not in the way that I was expecting. An amalgam of musical instruments played at what I perceived as tuneless and inhuman caterwauling from Mr. Beefheart himself, a man whom everyone claimed had a seven-and-a-half octave range. I honestly thought that I was being "punk'd", a victim of one of the oldest practical jokes in rock in roll. And in a way I was. The joke was on me, because at nineteen years old the windows to my mind had not yet been properly blown open. But they were about to be.

As the years progressed, I got more into jazz. Be-bop, then more free and avant-garde. Ornette, Coltrane, Frank Lowe. I got deeper into blues, and soaked up Howlin' Wolf's demon growl. Dadaism. And then... then I went back to Trout Mask Replica and suddenly I was staring at a vase where a moment before we only two faces. And it all made sense to me now. And I couldn't get enough. The words, the voice. The man. Now there are no words, and the man is gone. But the voice still remains. Thank you for teaching me, Doc.

I've been sick with the flu all week, or at least what's I'm pretty sure was the flu since I haven't had it in awhile. I'm better now though still a bit congested, and I can only sleep for an hour or two at a time before I start coughing and wheezing, which goes away the minute I sit up straight. I suppose this means that I don't have my official Death Cough/Dallas Hack yet since it doesn't plague me in the day, although the pressure in my chest is still there -- just easier to control. I suppose time will tell if I get the full blast of the cough in the next few days. Most of the time I'm just dopey on Loratadine and lack of sleep.

Joe has the potential to land a BIG job in the next few months if all things work out according to plan. Don't want to mention it just yet and jinx the thing, but please keep fingers and various appendages crossed for us.

Joe has been let go of his job, and on the whole I'm actually quite glad that he's not working there anymore because I know the stress of it was killing him on the inside, and I would rather see him out of work than sick and miserable any day. I remember how supportive he was with me when I quit Ticketmaster back in 2002, coming home every day for seven years having felt beaten with a stick for eight hours straight. A part of me still hates talking on the phone to this day due to how long I had to be hooked in on a headset and being screamed constantly. Joe's job really wasn't much different but in many ways a thousand times worse, and for much longer periods of time. But I'm proud of him for trying and sticking with it and doing his best considering the circumstances, being so sick all the time. And I have faith in his abilities to find something better and more enjoyable as well. We'll see what the future brings.

Please excuse my wretched cellphone pics from this year's Monsterfest 2010 at the Chesapeake City Public Library, as my regular Canon has gone missing and I couldn't work the snazzy new Kodak I got for Christmas last year. So feel free to lighten up or sharpen what needs to be lightened or sharpened. I took the shot of my signed Bowman Body poster on my mother's back patio table in the bright sunshine (and shady tree) so it turned out far better than the rest.

Pennsylvania native Bowman Body was a popular and very funny late-nite horror movie television host on WXEX (Richmond-Petersburg) starting in the summer of 1970 and there's even a super rare 45 single of his bluegrass theme song out in the local collector's market. Here my friend Hunter poses with the dear man, and later we ran into him over at El Toro Loco when we had just finished dinner and he was just arriving with his much younger entourage. It's wonderful seeing so many young people devoted to something before their time.

The library was HOT and very crowded, but probably one of the best crowds that I've seen in the past three years that I've attended. I didn't see Rose's poster table or the Trilogy table, although I hear they were being represented somewhere. I bought a comic book from a young Richmond artist named Rick Spears called Teenagers From Mars, so I'm looking forward to being introduced to a new talent... or new to ME anyway.

Doctor Madblood pulls up in his sweet new ride. Anybody who remembers Doctor Madblood from the 70's and 80's, who was syndicated all over the state of Virginia as well as parts of upstate New York, he used to drive this beautiful vintage 1930's 3-wheeler Morgan in the opening credits. I sat in on his panel (in celebration of the 35 years on the air) and he told us that the Morgan is considered

such a collectors item that the man who owns it was instructed by his insurance company never to drive it on the road again. But Madblood told us that in those days they used to take it out into the open country roads and get it up to about 100 mph. I mean damn, yo. He also told the story of the Madblood Manor, once an Elk's lodge from the 1880's up to 1970's, it became an apartment building and still stands, and the residents there still refer to their building as "Madblood Manor" (my friend Donna used to live there years ago).

Lots of unique and fun toys, comics, and gruesome things to stop and gawk at.

Dr. Sarcofiguy was the host of a horror movie television show up in Fairfax, VA back in 1995 or so, otherwise known as his show of "movies that make you say 'GOODNESS!'" Absolutely sweet and kind and funny guy. Hunter and I could not pull ourselves away from his table. Directly behind his fez is Donna (the woman who used to live in 'Madhouse Manor') and her young daughter.

"Honey, Melissa's here. When are you coming back?" Lee on the horn with his lovely lady trying to get her to come back to the con after she ducked back home for a few hours to pack for her business trip to New Orleans tomorrow. I feel bad that I missed Part Two of his ongoing Godzilla panel from last year's Monsterfest but when I got together with Hunter we both spent so long in the Madblood panel we ducked out for food and by then the day's events were done. There's an all-night movie lock-in this evening but I think I'm going to bow outta that one. I'm actually one of those slugs that works on Sunday mornings!

Rob made all of these statues and they all live in his garage, including the throne below, which he wants to move into the house in some way but maybe his wife overrode that decision. Either way,

the man's got a knack, and great show once again, Rob-mah-friend. I'm already dead tired, but I had a blast. Next year! NEXT YEEEAAR!

Been feeling drained all week. Depression from lack of money and has caused me to gain weight and put more wear and tear on my heel spurs and bad knee when I'm at work, so I am taking a four day weekend to relax and regain my strength -- rest my legs, nap, shake this fluish feeling I've been having, and maybe go to Outer Banks this Sunday, depending on how much money I'll have and how Joe will be feeling at the time. Yesterday was my father's 67th birthday and all through dinner I was nodding off and wound up crashing early last night, as if I had just run a marathon. It seems my body just wants something... don't know what, something that will help it heal whatever the problem is. So I have been allowing myself to eat and sleep whenever my body demands it, which seems like too of both, but maybe it's what I need right now. And maybe a day out of town with friend's at Alvin's aunt's beach house in Kill Devil Hills will snap me back into the waking world, although I'm hoping the house won't be filled with drunks by the time I get there. We're generally not a hard-partyin' lot, but some of the people who will be there this weekend who are guests of our regular inner circle have been known to be. I have heard that last year's bacchanal was just a smidge south of... uh, epic.

The openly gay southern gentleman got his big breakthrough role in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice and went on to feature in several other Burton roles, including The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Planet Of The Apes. He played the priest in Heathers and Jerry's landlord in Seinfeld, and a myriad of other cult films and animated voice-over work. Glenn passed away September 7th after a blunt force trauma to the head during a fall in his Birmingham, Alabama home. He was 58.

I totally fail as a girl, it's true. Nothing compares to root canal as far as I'm concerned as shopping for clothes and shoes, especially when there are no nice shoes for size 11's and no nice shirts or jackets or coats that will wrap around an I-cup bra. I went all of last winter without a decent warm coat because they just don't make anything that can button over my chest. And I could grab the most enormous sized men's coat on the rack which might button in the front but everywhere else I look like David Byrne because it still doesn't disguise the fact that I am wearing a big friggin' coat.

So it goes without saying what a nerve-wracking experience it was shopping for a new suit to wear for Mr. Williams' funeral Thursday morning, settling on some cheap Chinese collared jacket that still doesn't button over the boobs but I might be able to get away with it leaving it open and hoping that my nice cotton white shirt will help distract from its tackiness, plus a pair of equally hideous black trousers that aren't straight legged so I have to try and pin the hips so that I don't look like MC Hammer, and a pair of faux suede high heels that actually came in 11's so on my limited budget it'll do in a pinch. Oh, how I despise Lane Bryant.

But if I gotta get gussied up at least once a year it'll be worth it to pay my respects and do my mother proud that all her money sending me to charm school didn't go to waste. So the funeral is Thursday and it sounds like it might be quite an event with some of the folks that are already beginning to RSVP. Here's to hoping I get out of inventory before 4am this time so I can catch a few winks before the viewing in the morning. Meanwhile as I go try on my new duds here are some pictures from Ernest Williams' 92nd birthday party that we all threw for him at 37th & Zen this past March, while Mike sat in with the band on the skins that night as well.

Ugh yuck weekend. Spent Friday in a crampy Tylenol PM haze and slept for nearly 17 hours. More aches and yuckiness Saturday, up all night with stomach issues. Sunday was better but still tired from the weekend, and it was my brother's birthday so I had to manage to keep my eyes open during dinner out with the family. I am thoroughly ready for real, restful REM sleep for a change but first I wanted to post some pictures that my old college friend Jay sent me tonight that I haven't seen since they were taken back in 1987. Namely, the old radio station we set up in Jay's dormroom, a good three years before the movie Pump Up The Volume hit the big screen.

A photo of Chuck sitting in at the old official college radio station where I started out as a DJ (and where Jay was the frustrated music director). The station was still just AM and you really couldn't hear it anywhere on the campus unless you just happened to be standing right next to the station itself, and they didn't really train their DJs worth a lick. And we weren't allowed to play Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls" because the program director was afraid that we might offend somebody. Honestly, there was a girl at that station whose shift consisted of little more than dropping the needle onto side one of Hotel California and sitting there letting it play through, then flipping it over on the air and fumbling with the needle to start side two, again while sitting there staring into space. Already being a friend of Jay's it didn't take long to recruit me for his new radio project, and although Chuck initially resisted, he eventually came aboard later.

With our college trying to raise thousands of dollars to go FM all year, we did it in a week for basically free. There was a giant mono single cart player under the desk with a remote start that Jay had wired to the desk and bingo... we were broadcasting under 1/40 of a watt which was just enough to be heard all over campus on the FM dial. Technically we were just under the amount of wattage needed for an FCC licence, but we still tried to keep our noses clean by abiding FCC laws: no cursing on air, call letters on the hour, regular readings, etc. Jay taught it all to us. Oh, I was such a basket case every Tuesday night, lips pressed nervously to that microphone, desperately trying to segue Public Image Ltd. into Parliament-Funkadelic. I think I still have one of my old air checks laying around here somewhere.

A picture I took of Jay sitting at the "DJ booth" at our station Christmas party, which consisted also of Joe and three other guys (I was the only girl, how does that always seem to happen around music geeks?). Speaking of Pump Up The Volume, I always thought Jay looked an awful lot like Christian Slater back then. I remember what a big deal it was to get him to wear that hat because it would flatten his "foof", which is what we used to call his carefully moussed-up 80's hairdo. Jay also really enjoyed it when I brushed and styled his arm hair. I would give it a nice part down the middle and Aquanet it in place for the rest of the day. Jay loved showing off his sporty arm hair "foof" to the world.

And last but not the least bit least, Jay's 1972 Camero Z28, which I remember loving to ride in because back in 1987 I was so impressed that it had a CD player which as far as I was concerned was real state of the art cutting edge technology back then. That was like, somebody owning a jet pack or something. Oh, the memories of that cul de sac where Jay lived in Roanoke, Virginia, and the Halloween '87 party where some mysterious guy in a long brown trenchcoat wearing a child's plastic Glo Worm Halloween mask was cranking "Whistle Stop" by Roger Miller (from the Disney Robin Hood soundtrack) and banging his head against Jay's bedroom wall. Later as Leeann and I sat out in the middle of that street circle under the stars the Glo Worm Guy got in his station wagon and slowly drove past us, with the Glo Worm mask still on his face and "Whistle Stop" blaring out of his car windows as he disappeared into the night. And 23 years later I still can't stop laughing about that.

My good friend Mike's father Ernie Williams passed away this afternoon at 1:15pm EST. World War II veteran and retired postal worker. And one of the sweetest, kindest men I have ever met. I will miss you, Daddy.

Is Feeling The Burn

Most days I grab a cup of coffee at the Starbucks drive-thru on my way to work. And that's really about it. I don't drink any more during the day or night, and I don't drink coffee hardly at all on my days off. I don't drink soda (unless offered) so I like to think I am not overdoing it in the caffeine consumption, but I honestly don't know what has prompted these two vicious attacks on my guts these last two days.

Yesterday I had a cup of iced coffee, unsweetened, with non-fat milk, and an orange before I went into work. About a half hour later my stomach tied up into cramps but only lasted about ten minutes before I chalked it up to the acid from the oranges. Today I decided to forgo the orange and get the same grande cup of iced coffee. Pretty much what I get every day during the summer months.

Almost an hour later I had the same exact attack, but stronger.... so much stronger. Like a gas attack times twenty to the tenth power and then cubed, or something like that. I was alone back in the warehouse so nobody knew what was going on, but I was doubled over yelling and crying and finally managed to get to the phone and call Joe, who had my car today because he was heading over to Portsmouth at one o'clock to meet with friends for the fantasy football draft. I only live about 4 1/2 miles from my store so by the time Joe got there to get me the spasms had mostly stopped but it was still difficult to walk and it felt as if I had been punched hard in the gut, so I came home.

Now having chewed two of Joe's Gas Gone tablets and three Tylenols I am at least in a sitting position without screaming. So what is it? Am I having a bad reaction to coffee all of a sudden? I like to think that I'm not drinking... that much to have something like that devour me from the inside. I hate missing work though. I hate leaving the crew missing one soldier on a busy Sunday afternoon, but honestly, as tender as I still am I don't know what good I could have done. And going to the doctor would probably result in a lot of quacky Doc-N-The-Box advise since my general practitioner doesn't work the Sabbath (like most I assume). But Joe just called from Portsmouth to check up on me (I insisted he go because I really am feeling better than I did before) and I don't feel like there's any kind of emergency, but usually it's an emergency that would keep me from working in the first place, because I always need the money. Just, it was so weird. That pain was, as the kids say, off the hook. But I'm better now. At least, for the moment. No more coffee for me for awhile. We shall wait and see.

I hope my boss isn't expecting a doctor's note. Ironically I may wind up going out to Norfolk General anyway because my friend Mike's elderly father is in the hospital and, well, it doesn't look good. Joe had a flash that maybe I was feeling "sympathy pains" for Mike's father because of his failing liver and kidneys at that very moment, and boy, not that I typically believe in those sort of things but wow that would be a serious trip.

Speaking of trips, the "PM" part of the Tylenol PM is finally kicking in and I better go lay down before I find some heavy machinery to operate.

I Am Curious Giallo

So they have gone and made a game out of the movie The Human Centipede. If anybody wants to know why I was a half an hour late picking up Joe from work last night, click the link.

I am, however, more excited about the upcoming Criterion DVD of House, the 1977 Nobuhiko Obayashi freak-out that never saw an official American release, yet as years as a bootleg and late-night television viewings has probably influenced everyone from Sam Raimi to Takashi Miike with its own inexplicable hodgepodge of horror, German expressionist thriller, Italian crime drama and good ol' American Tex Avery-style animated lunacy. Inspired from a story idea by Nobuhiko's young daughter, it involves a group of perpetually cheerful teenage girls with names like Gorgeous (the pretty one), Melody (the piano player) and Fantasy (the dreamer) who come to visit Gorgeous' aunt and so many strange things begin to happen it sets all future standards in Japanese cinematic high-weirdness.

House will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray in October. I was thinking about ordering it through work but I'm more and more tempted to place it here, because you get a pretty swell T-shirt as a bonus.

She Shines!

Gots me a new modem after getting kicked offline during the thunderstorm the other night, so on with boring you all to tears. And exhausting myself with work and it's strange new trend in us giving away money that we apparently don't have.

In the last few weeks we have made less money in sales, but our backback ratio has been through the flippin' roof, with people dropping off enormous box-loads, sometimes trash bags, filled with CDs and DVDs to sell back, all for money. And all desperate and anxious and testy about it too. Some days I process about 500 pieces, and not only to I have to ring them all up but I have to type them all out to the police department the next morning, and we don't have the man-power to bag and tag them as they come in, nor a place to put them, considering that this is what we have been averaging a day. Either the economy is killing them out there, or people really are dumping their stuff onto hard drives and getting rid of the physical element. It's wearing a lot of us down, not just the process but the sight of people coming through the door no longer with small bags of DVDs to sell, but whole families lugging tubs and crates on rollers, standing in line behind each other, and me not being able to pee for hours.

Are all of you getting rod of your DVD collections as well? And your CDs too? I mean this has been going on for awhile, but never to this extreme, like it's been in the last few weeks. And it was all people like this one girl today who was crying for every cent she could get on her DVDs because she needed money to buy her asthma inhaler at the pharmacy today.

Are we getting this desperate, people? And furthermore, will I have bladder problems when I'm older processing it all?

So hot at work, even with the air conditioner on, I tear off my shirt and toss it straight into the washer as soon as I walk through my door at the end of the day. And what a long, nutty week it's going to be, now that we have finally come up with a plan to get the WEA catalog back into the store again: Instead of all CDs $9.99, the new signs will say "ALL CDS AS LOW AS $9.99" or something like that, which means we can finally start selling the new Tom Petty and Trey Songz and Deftones and Michael Buble and Straight No Chaser and Avenged Sevenfold and bloody hell whatever the kids are listening to these days. This requires me to come into work at 7am and start re-pricing everything, and I know people are gonna raise a stink over this. But then again they complained that we didn't have anything new in the store anymore, so at least we'll have that again, roit? The other two price points will be $12.99 and $14.99 so it's not like they have to pay the old $18.99 for everything anymore. Just that WEA sells their stuff for $11 per unit so we can't sell it retail for $9.99 -- WE ARE NOT WALMART. We don't have loss-leaders. But at least people shouldn't complain about our used prices being so high anymore either.

Gotta force myself to go to bed. Damn I just wish my head didn't hurt so much.

I am currently endeavoring to catalog all of the movies I own, which will undoubtedly cripple me over time. Right now I am cataloging alphabetically, so I am currently in the A-H zone. Predicting total breakdown by the R's and S's, although the B's have been pretty harrowing I must admit.

For the last several weeks (months?) I have had this incredible nostalgic urge to go back to Hilton Head Island again before the summer is finished. To be able to ride a bike through Harbourtown and see how much has changed since I was last there in the early 1980s. But the more I think about it the more I realize that I don't miss Hilton Head so much as I miss Hilton Head in the early 80's, and sadly I don't think I can ever go back to that place where I could hang out at the water park and play Donkey Kong while "Somebody's Baby" by Jackson Browne plays over the piped-in radio and then slide down the flume without my boobies falling out of my bathing suit because they were still mere D cups back then (okay, they only fell out a few times).

I suppose I'm more nostalgic for a place and time rather than just a place. Although I suppose the great thing about the present is that there is always a chance to go there and conjure up new memories to be nostalgic about in the future. Gad, now depressing.
