I Need A Distraction
New DVD release weekend, as per usual. Saw Little Miss Sunshine, which I liked. And My Super Ex-Girlfriend, which I didn't so much. Slept through Invincible, which I thought I would.
My tooth really, really hurts tonight.

I've started to have a problem with receding gumlines, by cracky. No cavities on the recent checkup, yet the sensitive spots can still sting with just a little eating -- and flossing doesn't always get rid of the pain.
I've found that sugarless gum helps me ignore the pain somewhat, at such times. And it increases the saliva in the mouth, which can also help.
Oh man, Greg. My mom just had new gums surgically attached to her receeding ones, and that was no fun. I have about two areas where mine are doing the same thing. I've been told that it can be hereditary in some cases. Urk.
Greg, I would love to see you write that Nick Lowe article for the High Hat that you mentioned the other day. I really, really think you should do it. Then again you know I love your writing. I was thinking about submitting something this time too, but I have no idea what "first" I want to expound upon. And I've barely had time to blog this days, let alone a whole article. But I would really love to read your take on the Jesus 'O Cool hisself.
I've made the commitment to write the Lowe story (it's due by January's end.) Fortunately I did a killer Lowe CD mix this past year based on a box set etc. that Andy and Eleanor sent me from Nashville, and I have the relatively easy task now of just taking it track by track and recording my impressions. That will take up much of the piece. I just hope I don't get so off the wall in my impressions that I lose too many folks.
As for your Hat deal, how about an impressionistic view of Prince at the Super Bowl? Contact leonard.pierce@gmail.com; maybe ol' Leonard can still hook you up for the next issue.
I was surprised that Wal Mart had such a big display for Little Miss Sunshine, and they had a special editon that had a cd with a few songs from the movie attached to it.
Sunshine did big enough box office and was the best grossing flick of the bunch that was released to DVD that week
